My name is Anne, I am 46 years old. I have struggled with my weight for over 25 years. In the last 10 years it had become very difficult. I had tried Weightwatchers, Lipotrim, Herbalife, and plain old "cutting back". I failed every time. I became very despondent and quite withdrawn socially.

I eventually gave serious consideration to having Bariatric surgery. I consulted my G.P. and asked him to refer me to a reputable Consultant.

I had a Gastric Roux - en - Y bypass on 24th March 2010, and my life has changed so much. It really was like being reborn. I have already lost almost 6 stone. I have so much more energy, I feel so much better, and I am off my blood pressure medication. I love life now, and there is nothing I cannot do. I enjoy each and every day. I enjoy setting myself new challenges, and the return to some old favourite hobbies, like horseriding. I am even going to buy a new bicycle!

If someone had told me 4 months ago, that I would have felt this good, I wouldn't have believed them. I am so glad that I have had this surgery. It has given me back my life.
